USEFUL INFORMATION

What is PUL fabric?

Polyurethane Laminate Fabric, short PUL, is a polyester knit (sometimes cotton or poly cotton) fabric, which has been heat laminated on the reverse side. This gives the fabric its waterproof properties whilst remaining lightweight and flexible. Unlike other laminated fabrics (i.e. oil cloth) PUL is soft and easy to work with. It has a slight stretch to it and is machine washable.

How do I wash PUL fabric?

To prolong the life of your product it is recommended to follow these care instructions:

  • Machine washable (40 degree max) using mild non-bio detergent, preferably liquid.

  • An extra rinse cycle is recommended as traces of detergent may reduce the life of the laminate.

  • Air-dry is the best option. Not only is this environmentally friendly, it also prolongs the life of your fabric. Please note that drying out of direct sunlight is highly recommended as UV light can affect the polyurethane film.

  • If absolutely necessary, tumble dry at low temperature

  • Do not soak

  • Do not wring

  • Do not iron

  • Do not use fabric softeners

  • Do not dry clean

  • No bleach, vinegar, or oxy-type products as they can damage the PUL

What is the fabric made of?

73% polyester / 27% polyurethane, between 150 GSM and 185 GSM. Please refer to the GSM rating on each individual listing.
Laminated Fabric Width - circa between 140cm and 150cm (57 - 59 inches)

My PUL fabric has been tested for harmful substances and is lead and phthalate free.

PUL fabric does not contain BPA (bisphenol-a).

Please note that some of my PUL fabrics have a wide selvedge which may not be laminated and may be wider on one side than the other. The laminated width is still always circa between 140cm and 150cm.
